This was my favourite of the 'B's. I sailed on her twice as 'Gastrana', and was in command when she changed names to 'Belais' in Chiba on the 3rd December 1986. I sailed again on her in 1988 and 1990.

I used to enjoy the opportunity to 'turn right' into the Sulu Sea to avoid the typhoons, exiting into the Pacific via the St Bernadine Channel. Probably not allowed to do that now.
