My father, William G.H. Leleu, was the secon Captain on bord of the tanker "Alberta" when the ship was torpedoed by this British submarine (our allied) in 1941.
My father had just the time to take the plate of its cabin door as a souvenir before leaving the sinking ship.
Seven sailors were killed among the mecanics.
It turns out that, years and years after this tragic event of the second world war, by an extraordinary hazard, my father got acquainted of the captain of this British submarine......
