As a deck boy on the Harvella in 1957, I was encouraged to go ashore at Stanlow with a deck apprentice. After ditching the girl he had set me up with, I met a girl who I married the next year and we are still together after 58 years! Wish I could thank that apprentice! Michael Fruin Tasmania

Joined the vessel in Belfast .Brand new from Harland and my first time out of Wales! a YOUNG SPROG ,off to Curacao ! I thought it was paradise ,13 visits later we were glad to visit the Med and the Baltic .It was a happy ship with some good shipmates and my start in the world of work .The picture of the vessel brings back memories .Good luck to all that sailed on her and are still around
