Correction to my previous message.Captain Harland was not in charge on the Amastra when she was sunk in Viet Nam at Nha Trang. Trying to read name on my discharge looks like Camption.He emptied his drinks cabinet, and we all sat on the beach drinking until trucks came along to bring us to the US camp. Hi there ship mates,anyone out there remember forty years ago this month in Nha Trang Vietnam when the MV Amastra was mined and sunk by the vietcong. Any former crew who were on board that night, I would like to hear from you sometime.Safe sailing to all. Captain Harland was in very able command that night. |
