| 05/29/2009 - 07:32 | Spent a wonderful few years at the end of the 60s early 70s sailing with Joe Shell I sailed on the Verena , Venassa , Hyala , Medora , Mactra and the Mangellia and have wonderful memories of all these ships . A big thank you to Kees for setting up this website so all us old seadogs can reminice about the time we spent at sea. If anyone remembers me feel free to drop me a line . |
| 08/17/2008 - 12:40 | I stood by the Mactra in Durban [ Jan - June 1970 ] while it was made seaworthy after an explosion , possibly the best 6 months of my life, I then went to Yokohama with her and paid off there. Is there anyone who remembers me , we had a great bunch of guys on board and we had some wonderful times Please contact me if you were on board the Mactra at that time |

I remember joining the Verena in Nynashamn, Sweden as a first trip fiver, on the 23rd march 1968. |
